Project #4 Display Unit- Part 1

Ok soI've finally had a minute to do my posting!
As I started this project I was debating whether to display my product or my product + packaging. I began by thinking of ideas to display the stencil and box. I was pretty uninspired by this because all I could think of was shelving units. I felt like the box was limiting me in what I could do. I wanted to try to extent beyond myself for this project and I didn't think I could do that if I went the route of displaying my box. I did however investigate some ways to display the box and few of the ideas I was thinking about are below...

I didn't think the shelving unit would be visually interesting so I started thinking about cupcake/cake displays. I wanted something that could be visible from 360 degrees

Still uninspired by this...

Started thinking ok, lets just display the stencil so I started thinking about ideas like bird houses, cages, nests, etc....

From these inspiration photos I started to sketch out some ideas.....

I started to construct some models with shelves to display the boxes. They are very rough and again led to my initial feeling that I wanted to do something other than shelves

I started to really like the bird feeder idea but I wanted to do something with wire and got to thinking about the bird cages and mobiles to hang the stencil from. Here are a few of my sketches and photos for inspiration...

So in my next post I will show more how my ideas have progressed and hopefully I will have so more concrete models and ideas! Wish me luck :)
